Ingredients

  • 5-6 lg. cooking apples
  • 3/4 C. and 1 Tbs. sugar
  • 2 Tbs. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbs. butter
  • pastry for 2 crusts

How To Make old-fashioned apple pie

  • Step 1
    Slice apples to fill pie pan. Transfer to bowl and mix with sugar and cinnamon. Line pie pan with pastry. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon flour in bottom of pan and stir with fingers. Mix apples with 3/4 cup sugar and remaining flour. Pile in pie pan and dot with butter. Wet edges of bottom crust with water (makes crusts seal). Put on top crust and crimp. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.
