old fashion cranberry nut bread
This is one of our families favorite breads. We make this every fall when the cranberries are being harvested.

Ingredients
- 1 C Cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 C Sugar
- 3 C Sifted flour
- 4 tsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 C Coarsely chopped walnuts (or pecans)
- Grated rind of 1 orange
- 1 Egg (lightly beaten)
- 1 C Milk
- 2 tsp Melted butter (or margarine)
How To Make old fashion cranberry nut bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 F. Put cranberries through coarse blade of meat grinder or food processor and mix with 1/4 cup of sugar. Sift remaining sugar with the flour, baking powder, and salt; mix in the nuts and orange rind. Lightly beat egg with the milk and melted butter and stir into the flour mixture. Fold in the cranberries. Spoon into a buttered 9x5x3 inch loaf pan and bake about 1 hour or until loaf pulls slightly away from the side of the pan and is springy to the touch.Cool upright in the pan 10 minutes, then turn out on a wire rack and cool before slicing.
