I love this detergent. You can adjust the amounts to make the detergent more concentrated if you like.

*I usually stir it pretty often, if you don't it will get chunky*

*Add 1 ounce of essential oil to add any smell of your choice*

Ingredients

1/3 Bar
fels naptha or other type of soap
1/2 c
washing soda (arm and hammer)
1/2 c
borax powder
1 Large
bucket
3-4
empty laundry detergent containers

How to Make Homemade Laundry Detergent

Step-by-Step

  • 1Grate the soap and put it into a saucepan.
  • 2Add 6 cups of hot water and stir until the soap thoroughly melts.
  • 3Add the washing soda and borax and stir until it is dissolved.
  • 4Remove from heat.
  • 5Add 4 cups of hot water to your bucket and add your soap mixture. Stir.
  • 6Add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of water and stir.
  • 7Let it sit for 24 hours so it can gel.
