How to Make Bird Suet

Step-by-Step

  1. Melt lard and peanut butter mix until smooth.
Add corn meal and flour. Mix well. Put in your containers
    Cool in refrigerator or freeze.
This is just basic. Add any of the following to cater to your birds
  2. birdseed, sunflower seeds, nuts (crushed peanuts, pecans, walnuts), dried apples, raisins, currants (cut up), crushed cereal, chips, bread crumbs, etc.
    oats.
You may need to add more lard or less flour if you add a lot of extras...
Check to see what will attract your birds and cater to them. Always have fresh water near the food..
    Enjoy your wild life.
I have not had a problem with this suet melting or with ants attacking.
