I've been on a disaster survival kick lately. Lol.I found this on a blog devoted to surviving after a natural, man-made, or government disaster. I have not yet tried this for myself, but I do plan on trying it eventually. :)

Ingredients For survivalist's laundry detergent

  • 1/2
    bar of bar soap, granulated/shredded
  • 1/2 c
    washing soda
  • 1/2 c
    borax
  • 1 gal
    clean water

How To Make survivalist's laundry detergent

  • 1
    Bring water to simmer. Add dry ingredients, mixing until soap has melted.
  • 2
    Pour into gallon bucket/jug. Measure 1/2 cup for light/medium loads. Measure 1 cup for heavy/large loads. Works in washing machines and for hand washing.
