Starting in 1971 I moved to a farm, a city girl. Didn't know how to do very much except for cooking. I had to learn fast and we didn't have a lot of money for extra's so I did what I had to do so I made things. I started out with lye soap but when glycerin came available I switched because of my skin. I still make it and give as gifts. I leave out the herbs and put plastic things in the bottom of mold for children. Just make sure they can't choke on them. I give those to older children.

How to Make Homemade Glycerin Soap (non-edible)

Step-by-Step

  1. Melt the glycerin in a pot over medium heat. When melted take off of the stove. Add your essence when it has cooled down a little and add the herbs. Pour it into molds.
  2. You can go to Michaels for the supplies or on the internet and I have some molds that I have purchased years ago and they are still around.
