For years I have saved an empty fabric softner bottle, then refill it half full using a new bottle of softner, and then fill it on up with water. I did this to begin with so bath towels would still feel soft but absorb water better for baths and showers. But this works on all my laundry so I get double for my money. If I want more softner for blankets or dressy clothes I just add alittle more.
