When I was young, they didn't have convenient things like PAM and Bakers Joy. I remembered my Gran making something that she used all the time to grease pans, casserole dishes etc. and went searching the Net for it. I've used many a can of the above mentioned, but no more! Now I make my own. It works on cookie scoops and especially well on Bundt Pans.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup vegetable shortening (i use crisco butter flavored)

How To Make pan-ease

  • Step 1
Put the three in a jar that has a lid. Mix together. Melting the shortening, adding the oil, then sifting the flour to it as you stir...No lumps...
  • Step 2
Use instead of any nonstick sprays for anthing you would normally oil/flour. Just apply with a paper towel or fingers to surface of cooking utensil.
  • Step 3
Makes 1 cup. Store in the refrigerator. If it sets up too thick, 10sec or LESS will have it ready. I use a pastry brush.
