I found this in a church cookbook! I got really tickled and thought my fellow foodies might like a good laugh as well. Please don't attempt this recipe at home! lol

How to Make Mother's Elephant Stew

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut elephant into small bite sized pieces, this will take about 2 months.
  2. Add enough brown gravy to cover.
  3. Cook over a large fire for 4 weeks.
  4. This will serve about 3,000 people. If more are expected, 2 rabbits may be added, but do this only if necessary, as most people do not like to find hare in their stew!
  5. ***Disclaimer: Not an actual recipe, no elephants and rabbits were harmed during this joke!***
