But scrying with a black mirror, whether for faith or a bit of fun, is something anyone can learn with some practice. So if you are planning a personal trip into divination, or want to play a part at the next Halloween party, brush up on your scrying techniques

Every good witch needs a black scrying mirror, This is a great do at home craft or a craft to share with your coven or children.

    a picture frame, complete with the glass

    acrylic or oil based black paint

How to Make Make a "Black mirror" for scrying


  1. Disassemble the frame and lay the glass on a piece
    of newspaper.

    Paint the backside of the glass with the black paint and let dry.
    (I recommend 2-3 coats.) After it is all dry, if there is any need,
    clean the outer part of the glass with winnow cleaner.

    Place the painted glass into the picture frame the unpainted glass
    side facing outwards. You can glue various magical items to your
    black magic picture frame, like herbs, crystals, stones, shells, feathers etc

    Use with black candle, slightly tilted for candle Scrying,
    especially effective when the Sun is in Scorpio, October.
