fingerpaints
This will be a fun alternative activity for kids this summer! You can only read so many books, play so many board games, sing so many songs, built so many crafts and learn so many new tricks to play on people before you start getting into trouble! So...I am including this recipe in my book of homemade fun stuff. These are very inexpensive to make, and really fun to play with. I would suggest a grown up's shirt as a smock and maybe even doing this outside! I got this recipe and pic at: diddlediddledumplings.blogspot.com but I can't find it on this site any longer!

-
Step 1Combine ingredients in a small saucepan. Warm until the mixture thickens.

Step 2Pour into containers. Add a different color of food coloring to each one to have colors. If you are short on colors, but have primaries(red, blue and yellow) you can make others by combining colors.
-
Step 3red + blue = violet (or purple depending on the amount of each. Yellow + blue = green (You can make a brighter lighter green by adding more yellow.) red + yellow = orange Have fun!
