I made a version of these wonderful ornaments with Elmer's glue. It never seemed to harden, and was not something that could be eaten should my dogs go after them...Mom had a recipe that didn't include the glue, and with the extra bonus of smelling wonderful even longer than mine. Make these this year with your favorite little person, and hang them together on your family tree. Just like I remember doing with Mom.

- 3/4 cup applesauce
- 4 1/8 ounces ground cinnamon
- 12 - pieces ribbon for hanging

Step 1Mix applesauce with cinnamon to form a stiff dough. You may need 1 c applesauce to do so. Roll to 1/4" thickness. Cut out with cookie cutters. Make a hole for the ribbon and put on a wire rack to dry. Allow to air dry several days, turning occasionally. Thread with ribbon and hang.
