I had this posted on my fridge for a quick reference. This simple chart comes in handy for anyone who doesn't have these measurements memorized. Great for a beginner cook and even an experienced one who is slightly forgetful...like me!

  • 1 pinch equals 1/8 tsp. or less
  • 3 teaspoons equals 1 tablespoon
  • 2 tablespoons equals 1/8 cup
  • 4 tablespoons equals 1/4 cup
  • 16 tablespoons equals 1 cup
  • 5 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon equals 1/3 cup
  • 4 ounces equals 1/2 cup
  • 8 ounces equals 1 cup
  • 16 ounces equals 1 pound
  • 1 ounce equals 2 tablespoons fat or liquid
  • 1 cup liquid equals 1/2 pint
  • 2 cups equals 1 pint
  • 2 pints equals 1quart
  • 4 cups liquid equals 1 quart
  • 4 quarts equals 1 gallon
  • 8 quarts equals 1 peck (such as apples,pears, etc.)
