These are my baby-girls' favorite cookies/treat-treats (my female dog - Clyde)! She just goes crazy over these & I'm sure your dog (or cat) will too. *** MUST BE REFRIGERATED - OTHERWISE THEY'LL GET MOLDY - REMEMBER THERE IS NO PRESERVATIVES IN THESE!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour (white or wheat)
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, dried (or mint - to give them minty-fresh breath)
  • 8 ounces liverwurst, liver sausage, braunschweiger (or can use 1 cup(s) chicken livers, cooked)

How To Make clydie-poo's liver sausage cookies

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Step 2
Place flour in a stand-mixer or large bowl.
  • Step 3
In seperate bowl, beat egg with oil, then add broth & parsley, mix well.
  • Step 4
Add the wet ingredients to dry ingredients (in the stand mixer) a little at a time, stirring well.
  • Step 5
Fold in liverwurst & mix well. Dough will be firm.
  • Step 6
Turn dough out on lightly floured surface & knead briefly.
  • Step 7
Roll out 1/2" thick & cut into shapes using cookie cutter (I usually do either dog bone or leaf shapes).
  • Step 8
Place on greased cookie sheet (or can use Silpat liners) 1" apart. Bake for 15 minutes or until firm.
  • Step 9
Store in airtight container in frig.
