My mom always makes her own bird food instead of buying the suet from the store. Now she has picky birds!

Ingredients

1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 cup lard
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups cornmeal (or crushed crackers)

How To Make bird food

Step 1

Melt lard. Stir in peanut butter, then add the remaining ingredients. Pour into freezer containers (to a thickness of approx. 1 1/2 inches thick) and freeze until firm.

Step 2

Sandwich-sized Gladware works well for this.
