Naturally Sweetened Swiss Meringue Buttercream

INGREDIENTS
4 egg whites, room temperature
¾ cup honey or maple syrup (I used half of each)
1¾ cup butter, slightly softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½–2 teaspoons arrowroot or cornstarch, optional
