INGREDIENTS
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1⁄3 cup un-sifted whole-wheat flour
1⁄3 cup quick-cooking rolled oats (oatmeal)
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal (not stone-ground)
2 tablespoons bran cereal (not flakes)
2 tablespoons wheat germ
2 tablespoons raw sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1/2 cup dark seedless raisins or dried currants
1 cup buttermilk (not fat-free)
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
3 tablespoons molasses (not too dark)
1 large egg
