Mulled Wine Jelly Candies

1 cinnamon stick (3 inches)

3 whole cloves
•
1/2 cup powdered fruit pectin
•
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
•
1-1/3 cups sugar
•
1-1/3 cups light corn syrup
•
COATING:

1/4 cup sugar
