1 box chocolate fudge or devil's food cake mix

oil and eggs as called for on package
•
replace water with coffee at room temperature
•
1 tablespoon instant espresso powder or 1 packet instant coffee powder
•
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
•
1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
•
1/2 cup caramel sauce (I used Smuckers)
•
1 teaspoon sea salt
•
3 cups powdered sugar
•
1 to 3 teaspoons milk
•
more caramel for topping cupcakes
•
ground coffee for sprinkling
