1 pound Meyer lemons, plus 1 tablespoon Meyer lemon juice and 10 thin Meyer lemon slices (or substitute regular lemons)
1 1/2 cups whole almonds
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 large eggs, separated
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 cup candied or crystallized ginger, finely diced
1/2 cup powdered sugar
