"Why not make something decadent healthy? Pecans are healthy, eggs are healthy, and compared to most other sweeteners maple syrup contains a lot of minerals which are good for you, but less sugar (more liquid). Most special protein rich recipes claim egg whites only, but as a matter of fact the egg yolk is higher in protein, and research has shown that the cholesterol in eggs is NOT the problem with high blood cholesterol levels. Mostly it's the carbohydrates which elevate the cholesterol, not butter, eggs or bacon. Prep time does not include soaking time!..."
