1/4 cup unsalted butte
•
1/2 cup pure maple syrup* (I use dark amber maple syrup, DO NOT USE Regular breakfast syrup, PURE MAPLE SYRUP IS BEST

1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
•
1/2 teaspoon maple extract (optional)
•
SPICE DONUTS
•
1 cup all-purpose flour (careful not to over measure)
•
1 teaspoon baking powder
•
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
•
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
•
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
•
1/4 teaspoon allspice
•
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
•
1 large egg
•
1/3 cup light brown sugar
•
1/4 cup milk* (regular is fine, I sometimes use buttermilk)
•
1/4 cup yogurt* (PLAIN or VANILLA, Greek is also OK)
•
2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
•
1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
