This is a spicy/sweet turkey sandwich that is a tradition at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our family loves spicy/hot foods... and this one is a family favorite! It is a change from the ho-hum boring left overs. Each ingredient is important for this sandwich. Writing this recipe has me longing for the holidays to arrive!

Ingredients

  • 2 slices white or wheat bread
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons favorite cranberry sauce
  • 1-3 slice turkey
  • 1 tablespoon italian giardinara (in oil)

How To Make very unusual turkey sandwich

  • Step 1
Spread the two slices of bread with the mayonnaise
  • This is jellied cranberry sauce on bread with mayo. (Sometimes I use whole cranberry sauce or home made cranberry sauce).
    Step 2
Add the cranberry sauce to one of the slices of bread with mayo.
  • Giardinara on bread with mayo. Giardinara is a combination of hot peppers, veggies and oil.
    Step 3
Put giardinara on the other slice of mayo bread. Place desired amount of turkey on the side with giardinara (it helps hold it on the bread when you make it a covered sandwich).
  • This is one tasty sandwich! It has all the food groups... bread, turkey, Mayo, cranberry sauce and giardinara!
    Step 4
Put the two slices of bread and fillings together to form the best sandwich on the planet! Cut on a diagonal and serve!
  • Step 5
This is a messy sandwich... and an all time family favorite! (But it is too spicy for kids.... sorry.... this is for grown ups who like spicy!
