Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds chicken broth
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 4 - carrots, cut in 1
  • 2 - onions, quartered
  • 2 - stalks celery, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 2 cups water, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup biscuit mix
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 4 ounces canned chicken broth

How To Make turkey stew with dumplings

  • Step 1
    Saute bacon in Dutch oven until partially crisp.
  • Step 2
    Cut turkey into 1 inch chunks and add with onion.
  • Step 3
    Saute until meat is no longer pink.
  • Step 4
    Add carrots, celery, 1 and 3/4 cup water, broth, rosemary and bay leaf.
  • Step 5
    Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Mix flour with 1/4 cup water and stir into stew mixture.
  • Step 7
    Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
  • Step 8
    Remove bay leaf.
  • Step 9
    Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 10
    Mix Bisquick and milk and drop by rounded tablespoons onto stew.
  • Step 11
    Cook uncovered for 10 minutes.
  • Step 12
    Cover and cook 10 minutes longer.
