I did not have any ground beef so had to sub with ground turkey ,with delicious results!I will be making them this way from now on .

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup uncooked instant rice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup fine chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 can 15oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce

How To Make turkey porcupine meatballs

  • Step 1
    In a bowl,combine the first seven ingredients,crumble over turkey,mix well.
  • Step 2
    Shape into 1 1/2in. balls (i used a cookie scoop)
  • Step 3
    In a large skillet,brown meatballs in oil,drain.
  • Step 4
    Combine tomato sauce,brown sugar, worcestershire sauce,and water.
  • Step 5
    Pour over meatballs,reduce heat,cover and simmer for about an hour.
