turkey cornmeal burgers with salsa

These are fantastic burgers, and I tend to eat them without a bun. You, however, can if you choose. The salsa and corn on top are a nice cool down for the jalapeno in the burger!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 - egg white
  • 1 - jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup cooked frozen whole corn, drained
  • 1/2-3/4 cup salsa or picante sauce

How To Make turkey cornmeal burgers with salsa

  • Step 1
    In med bowl combine turkey, cornmeal, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, lime juice, egg white and jalapeno; mix lightly. Shape into 5 patties, 1/2" thick. Heat oil in large skillet over med heat until oil sizzles, about 1 min. Add turkey patties. Cook 3-5 min on each side or until browned and no longer pink in the center. Meanwhile, in small saucepan combine and heat corn and salsa. Serve on top of turkey burgers.
