Ingredients
- 22 pounds turkey
- 3 - carrots, chopped
- 3 - celery, chopped
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1 stick butter (hard)
- 1/2 stick butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons thyme, dried
- 1 - lemon, sliced
- - salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 cup water
How To Make *** mom's turkey ***

Step 1Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Step 2Chop up vegetables, place 3/4 on bottom of roasting pan, with rack. Pour water into pan.

Step 3Take out neck & gizzards from inside cavity. Rinse & pat dry turkey. Place turkey on roasting rack. Shove remaining vegetables & 1 stick butter inside cavity.

Step 4In a small bowl, mix all seasonings together. Rub melted butter all over skin of turkey. Sprinkle seasoning mixture evenly over turkey. Randomly, place lemon slices over turkey. Bake for 1 hour, reduce heat to 325 degrees F for 2 hours.
