Another way to use leftover turkey during the holidays. I like to add some white pepper to the sauce for a little more oompf.

Ingredients

  • 6 slice
    bread, toasted
  • ·
    leftover turkey
  • 1 lb
    bacon, fried and drained
  • ·
    grated cheddar cheese
  • WHITE SAUCE:

  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 8 Tbsp
    flour
  • 4 c
    milk

How to Make Hot Brown Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Lay toasted bread in bottom of a 9-by-13 inch dish.
  2. Layer with turkey and bacon.
  3. Pour white sauce over bacon.
  4. Bake in preheated 350F degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese 5 minutes before removing from oven.
  5. White sauce:
    Melt butter in a saucepan. Blend in flour. Add milk, stirring constantly until smooth.
