Another way to use leftover turkey during the holidays. I like to add some white pepper to the sauce for a little more oompf.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread, toasted
  • - leftover turkey
  • 1 pound bacon, fried and drained
  • - grated cheddar cheese
  • WHITE SAUCE:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 8 tablespoons flour
  • 4 cups milk

How To Make hot brown casserole

  • Step 1
    Lay toasted bread in bottom of a 9-by-13 inch dish.
  • Step 2
    Layer with turkey and bacon.
  • Step 3
    Pour white sauce over bacon.
  • Step 4
    Bake in preheated 350F degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese 5 minutes before removing from oven.
  • Step 5
    White sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan. Blend in flour. Add milk, stirring constantly until smooth.
