Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey
  • 10 - 12 pounds turkey
  • 4 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1 teaspoon allspice, ground
  • 1 teaspoon sage, ground
  • - salt & pepper, to taste

How To Make honey basted roast turkey

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Remove turkey's giblet packet. Rinse turkey & pat dry.
  • Step 3
    Rub turkey inside & out with peanut oil.
  • Step 4
    Combine spices & rub on outside of turkey.
  • Step 5
    Bake turkey in roasting pan covered with foil. Allow 18 - 20 minutes per pound. Cook until juices run clear with no hint of pink when pierced.
  • Step 6
    During last hour of roasting, brush the honey on the turkey at 20 minute intervals. When baking is complete let rest for 7 - 10 minutes.
