My Dad always request my dressing for Thanksgiving. This is so moist you won't need gravy!

  • 2 c
    chuncked turkey breast - fresh out of the oven
  • 2 c
    white corn meal mix
  • 2
    large eggs
  • 3 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 1-2 c
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped garlic
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    poultry seasoning
  • 4-6 c
    turkey broth (saved from baked turkey + extra purchased, chicken broth will work)
  • 1 medium
    onion chopped
  • 2
    stalks celery chopped
  • 2 stick
    unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp
  • ·
    pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp

How to Make Cornbread Dressing


  1. Prepare corn bread: mix corn meal mix, eggs, sugar, 1 tbsp minced garlic, & 1 tsp poultry seasoning. Add milk till soupy. Bake at 450 for 15-20 mins.
  2. Melt 1/2 stick butter in small skillet. Add chopped onion, 1 tbsp minced garlic & celery, cooking about 4 mins on medium heat.
  3. Crumble cooled cornbread into 9x13 pan sprayed will non-stick cooking spray.
  4. Add turkey, sauteed veggies, 1 1/2 sticks melted butter, & add turkey/chicken broth till mixture is very wet almost soupy(atleast 4 cups broth).
  5. Add poultry seasoning, salt & pepper to taste.
  6. Baked covered at 375, for one hour.
