My Dad always request my dressing for Thanksgiving. This is so moist you won't need gravy!

2 c
chuncked turkey breast - fresh out of the oven
2 c
white corn meal mix
large eggs
3 Tbsp
vegetable oil
1-2 c
2 Tbsp
chopped garlic
2-3 Tbsp
poultry seasoning
4-6 c
turkey broth (saved from baked turkey + extra purchased, chicken broth will work)
1 medium
onion chopped
stalks celery chopped
2 stick
unsalted butter
1 tsp
pepper to taste
2 Tbsp

How to Make Cornbread Dressing


  • 1Prepare corn bread: mix corn meal mix, eggs, sugar, 1 tbsp minced garlic, & 1 tsp poultry seasoning. Add milk till soupy. Bake at 450 for 15-20 mins.
  • 2Melt 1/2 stick butter in small skillet. Add chopped onion, 1 tbsp minced garlic & celery, cooking about 4 mins on medium heat.
  • 3Crumble cooled cornbread into 9x13 pan sprayed will non-stick cooking spray.
  • 4Add turkey, sauteed veggies, 1 1/2 sticks melted butter, & add turkey/chicken broth till mixture is very wet almost soupy(atleast 4 cups broth).
  • 5Add poultry seasoning, salt & pepper to taste.
  • 6Baked covered at 375, for one hour.
