I love making chili in the summer when everything is fresh. I then freeze it in smaller mason jars and thaw out in the fall and winter for those cold days.

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground meat or turkey
- 1/2 - white onion diced
- 1/2 - yellow bell pepper diced
- 1 can med olives (i cut mine in half to adjust) drained
- 1 can light red kidney beans drained
- 1 can small tomatoe paste
- 1 can diced tomatoes lightly drained
- - olive oil, extra virgin for sauteing
- - pepper
- - salt
- - minced garlic
- - chili pepper
- - crushed red peppers
- - brown sugar
How To Make comfort crock pot chili

Step 1heat oil in pan and add garlic, salt, pepper, crushed red peppers let simmer for a few mins

Step 2then add diced onions and diced yellow bell peppers saute till soft and crisp. Then add olives to lightly heat up and season

Step 3put all ingredients into crock pot listed in fist two directions. Add diced tomatoes and beans set on Low

Step 4in same pan add meat season with crushed red peppers, chili pepper, pepper season to brown and drain.

Step 5add to crock pot, along with tomato paste and brown sugar. Stir well, cover and let sit 5-7hrs or till ready. Stir, add water to thin and seasons to taste
