I have so many clippings from newspapers and magazines, which I need to organize better. So I'm starting to post recipes (like this one) that I want to try soon. It was written on a piece of note paper, without a source and I don't remember where I originally saw it.

prep time 35 Min
cook time 10 Min
method Grill
yield 4 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 4 - porterhouse pork chops (bone-in pork loin chops), each 3/4-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground chipotle chile (or smoked chile powder)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
  • 1 large orange, zested
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/3 cup - honey

How To Make hot and sweet grilled porterhouse pork chops

  • Step 1
Combine oil, chipotle chile, orange zest, salt and garlic. Use a rubber spatula to spread the sauce over both sides of all 4 chops. Let stand 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Prepare grill to medium-high heat.
  • Step 3
Place chops on heated grill and close lid. Grill over direct heat, turning once, for about 4 to 5 minutes per side (or until internal temperature reaches 145°F for medium-rare).
  • Step 4
During the last 2 minutes of grilling time, brush honey on both sides of each chop, and continue cooking for the last 2 minutes. Remove from grill and let stand 3 minutes before serving.
