This is my own spin on traditional shrimp and grits - it was a HUGE hit at my house!

Ingredients

1 c
5 minute grits
3 c
water
1 c
chicken stock
1/2 stick
butter, salted
1 c
white cheddar, shredded
1/4 c
parmesan cheese, shredded
1 Tbsp
old bay seasoning
3 Tbsp
seasoned salt
2 Tbsp
coarsely ground pepper
1/2 lb
sirloin steak, cooked to your liking and sliced thin
1 lb
shrimp, peeled and deveined, also cooked to your liking
2 sprig(s)
green onions, chopped

How to Make Surf and Turf White Cheddar Grits

Step-by-Step

  • 1Bring the water and stock to a boil in a medium sized sauce pan; add grits.
  • 2Reduce heat to medium-low, stir and add 1/2 stick butter through cayenne pepper.
  • 3Whisk together to fully incpororate ingredients and cover. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until grits are done and cheeses have melted. Remove from heat and keep covered.
  • 4Make sure to taste and adjust salt and pepper according to your taste.
  • 5Serve by topping grits with shrimp and steak; garnish with scallions.
