Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 8 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup sake or white wine
  • 6 pounds mussels scrubbed and beareds removed.
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup cilantro coarsly chopped

How To Make steamed mussels with cilantro broth

  • Step 1
    In a pot with a lid add the oil and heat until hot. Add the garlic and cook 30 seconds. Add the water and the Sake or wine. baring to a boil. Add the cleaned mussels and cover the pan and cook about 5 minutes shaking the pan.
  • Step 2
    Add salt and pepper and cilantro to the pan. Discard any mussels that haven't opened.
  • Step 3
    Remove mussels with slotted spoon to serving dish and add the cilantro broth over the scallops and serve.
