Ingredients For steamed crab with tomato butter

3 lbdungeness crab meat, if frozen remove meat from the shell

2 Tbspolive oil

1 mdshallot, chopped

1inch piece of ginger, grated

4 clovegarlic, minced

1jalapeno, seeded and chopped

1 lgtomato, chopped
-
1 Tbspketchup
-
1 tspsalt
-
1 tspgranulated sugar

1 tspfish sauce

5 Tbspbutter cut into cubes
How To Make steamed crab with tomato butter

1Remove the crab meat from the shells and set aside.

2Add the oil to a saucepan. Saute the shallot, garlic, and jalapeno until softened. Add the tomato and cook for 2 minutes. Add the ketchup, salt, sugar, and fish sauce. Cook for 5 minutes.

3Use an immersion blender or food processor to process until smoother.

4Get a steamer ready and add the crab meat to steam.

5While the crab is steaming put the tomato mixture back on the stove and whisk in the cold butter one cube at a time.

6Serve with the crab.
