Ingredients For shrimp casadas

  • 1 lb
    large shrimp, peeled, cleaned, and deveined
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    butter (amount depends on how many shrimp you need)
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    smoked paprika
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh black pepper
  • flour tortillas
  • shredded cheese of choice
  • guacamole, for serving
  • sour cream, for serving
  • salsa, for serving

How To Make shrimp casadas

    Slowly simmer all ingredients in a saucepan for about 10 minutes.

    Heat up a skillet to medium heat. Spoon a few tablespoons of the sauce in the bottom of the skillet. Add a flour tortilla on top to slowly brown. Drizzle sauce onto the top of the tortilla. Add shrimp (6-8 for a regular size tortilla). Add your choice of shredded cheese on top.

    Dip another tortilla into the sauce to cover both sides and place on top of the bottom loaded tortilla. Slowly brown on both sides flipping until both sides are lightly browned and firm. Remove and let rest a few minutes before slicing into quarters.

    Serve with guacamole, sour cream, salsa, or your favorite topping.
