I learned how to make alot of cajun recipes when i lived in Louisiana and jambalaya was my fave. I just changed it up a bit and it is great!

prep time 15 Min
cook time 35 Min
method Saute
yield 4-6 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound cooked plain shrimp
  • 1 package johnsonville smoked sausage
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1 medium green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup creole seasoning
  • 1 pound brown rice, cooked

How To Make shrimp and sausage jambalaya

  • Step 1
Cook rice as directed and set aside.
  • Step 2
Saute sausage, chopped bell pepper, and chopped onion in a tablespoon of olive oil until cooked through.
  • Step 3
Add frozen cooked shrimp and cook till warmed through.
  • Step 4
Add can of tomato soup and water and let simmer approx. 10 minutes then add in creole seasoning. I use more because I ike it spicy but you can add to suit your taste.
  • Step 5
Fold in cooked rice and stir continuously for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 6
Remove from heat and cover. Let stand 5-10 minutes. This lets the flavors infuse into the rice.
  • Step 7
    Enjoy!
