I love to serve oysters this way.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart shucked maryland standard oysters with liquor
  • 3 cups coarsely crushed fresh crackers (use big oyster crackers or water biscuits)
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make scalloped oysters

  • Step 1
    In a greased 2-quart casserole, place alternate layers of oysters and crackers, doting with butter and sprinkling with salt and pepper. End with a layer of crumbs.
  • Step 2
    Add milk until liquid almost reaches top of casserole. Dot with remaining butter. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 45-60 minutes until browned.
