red curry shrimp
Just 4 ingredients and about 20 minutes of your time and you have a spicy red curry dish. For the shrimp and red curry paste, these will be available in Asian markets. Unless you are growing Thai or Clove Basil, this may be available in Asian markets as well, and you can also go to a Thai restaurant and ask if you can get some from them.

- 2 - handfuls thai basil, or clove basil
- 2 tablespoons red curry paste
- 2 tablespoons shrimp paste
How To Make red curry shrimp
-
Step 1Heat a non stick pan and add the curry paste. This is real, local made red curry paste, this is spicy stuff, basically, Bird's Eye chilies, black pepper, red onion, garlic, and lemongrass.
-
Step 2Add the shrimp paste right after the curry paste. This is local made shrimp paste, shrimp and spices pounded in a mortar into a paste, very common ingredient in Thai cooking. If you have never used shrimp paste, get a nose clip, very strong odor.
-
Step 3Mix and cook for just a few minutes then add the shrimp and mix into the curry, the shrimp will release water, then add the clove basil and mix that in, stir fry until the clove basil is good and wilted.
-
Step 4Serve with rice or even a Thai omelet. Enjoy.
