Ingredients
- HOW TO PREPARE YOUR SHRIMP
- 8 ounces shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- FOR THE DISH
- 8 ounces rice noodles
- 2 tablespoons each rice vinegar, fish sauce, lemon juice and ketchup
- 1/4 tablespoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 3 scallions chopped
- 1 cup red cabbage shredded
- 2 cups fresh bean sprouts
- 4 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped nuts
- lime wedges for serving
How To Make my shrimp pad thai

Step 1For the shrimp rub the baking soda over the shrimp 1/2 massaging it in and let sit at least 15 minutes or up to 1/2 hour. Rinse well with cold water until water runs clear. This will make your shrimp tender and bouncy. Now it's ready to use.

Step 2Cook the noodles according to package directions and drain. Combine the vinegar, fish sauce, lemon juice, ketchup, sugar and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

Step 3Place oil in a Wok or large skillet. Add the garlic and scallions cook about 1 minute. Add the shrimp and cook about 3 minutes. Stir in the sauce mixture and noodles. Cook 1 minute. Add the red cabbage and cook until heated through. Serve with the bean sprouts, cilantro, nuts and lime wedges.
