Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups rice or rice noodles
- 3 tablespoons each soy sauce and tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup red onion finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon ginger grated
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 pounds jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 green onions thinly sliced
- fresh cilantro
How To Make malaysian style sweet chili shrimp

Step 1Cook the rice or noodles according to package directions. Meanwhile whisk together the soy sauce, tomato paste, chili garlic sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and 1 cup of water. set aside.

Step 2Place oil in a large skillet. Heat the olive oil over med high heat. Add the onion, garlic and ginger. Cook about 5 minutes. Add the soy sauce mixture. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer and simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.

Step 3Add the shrimp and cook another 3 to 4 minutes until shrimp are pink. Serve the shrimp and sauce over the rice or noodles and garnish with green onions and cilantro
