Ingredients

  • SAUCE
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons water
  • DISH
  • 8 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 ounces pork belly, cut into small cubes
  • 9 ounces rice noodles
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 anchovy, minced
  • 2 cups green cabbage, chopped

How To Make malaysian hokkien mee

  • Step 1
    Mix the ingredients for the sauce together and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Prepare the noodles according to package directions. Drain and rinse.
  • Step 3
    Add oil to a pan and cook the pork belly until it crisps. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Step 4
    Sear the shrimp in the pork belly fat and remove to a bowl. Set aside.
  • Step 5
    Add the onion, garlic, and anchovy to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Add the cabbage and cook 2 more minutes.
  • Step 7
    Stir in the noodles and sauce.
  • Step 8
    Add the shrimp and cook for one minute.
  • Step 9
    Divide the stir-fry between two plates and top with the pork belly.
