I love these tasty shrimp with the sauce. You don't have to use head-on shrimp, but they are delish. It's great with crusty bread to sop up that sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, grated
  • 2 pounds head-on shrimp, deveined
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup beer
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 stalks scallions, chopped
  • crusty bread

How To Make beer and ketchup shrimp

  • Step 1
    Add olive oil to a saucepan. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook about 1 minute.
  • Step 2
    Add the shrimp and cook for one minute.
  • Step 3
    Add the beer, ketchup, and sugar, and bring to a boil.
  • Step 4
    Mix the water and corn starch together. Stir into the sauce. Cook until thick.
  • Step 5
    Stir in the butter and scallions. Serve immediately.
