*You can substitute the shrimp with chicken, if desired. When it is just my husband and myself eating, I cut the shrimp ingredients in half, but use the full recipe of sauce because we like it a little more saucy than the original recipe makes it.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound uncooked spaghetti (or pasta of your choice)
  • 1 1/2 pounds raw medium shrimp, peeled and deveined*
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
  • black pepper, to taste
  • FOR THE SAUCE
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (no substitutions)
  • 1/2 cup thai sweet chili sauce (in the asian aisle)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper, or to taste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder

How To Make bang bang shrimp pasta

  • Step 1
    Mix all of the sauce ingredients in a large bowl and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  • Step 3
    Place uncooked shrimp (or chicken) in a medium bowl; add the paprika, 3 cloves of garlic and pepper.
  • Step 4
    In a large skillet over medium heat, add the coated shrimp (or chicken). Cook, stirring constantly, until shrimp is opaque or chicken, if using, is no longer pink, about 10 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Step 6
    In a large serving bowl, combine the pasta, shrimp/chicken, and sauce mixture. Toss well to coat.
