*You can substitute the shrimp with chicken, if desired. When it is just my husband and myself eating, I cut the shrimp ingredients in half, but use the full recipe of sauce because we like it a little more saucy than the original recipe makes it.

Ingredients For bang bang shrimp pasta

  • 1 lb
    uncooked spaghetti (or pasta of your choice)
  • 1 1/2 lb
    raw medium shrimp, peeled and deveined*
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 3 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1 Tbsp
    fresh parsley, minced
  • black pepper, to taste
  • FOR THE SAUCE
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise (no substitutions)
  • 1/2 c
    thai sweet chili sauce (in the asian aisle)
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp
    lime juice
  • 1/4 tsp
    crushed red pepper, or to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    onion powder

How To Make bang bang shrimp pasta

  • 1
    Mix all of the sauce ingredients in a large bowl and set aside.

    Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  • 3
    Place uncooked shrimp (or chicken) in a medium bowl; add the paprika, 3 cloves of garlic and pepper.

    In a large skillet over medium heat, add the coated shrimp (or chicken). Cook, stirring constantly, until shrimp is opaque or chicken, if using, is no longer pink, about 10 minutes.

    Remove from heat and set aside.

    In a large serving bowl, combine the pasta, shrimp/chicken, and sauce mixture. Toss well to coat.
