There are other bierock recipes posted here, but none call for bacon. The bacon adds a whole other level of flavor. I truly believe you will find this to be extra delicious! A former in-law was originally from Germany, and she taught me how to make this. Our family loves it, and I hope your family will, too. Please let me know..........thx!!

Ingredients For yummy bierock

1 mdhead of cabbage (cored and chopped)

1 lgonion, diced

1-1/2 lbhamburger

1/2 lbbacon, chopped

2 or 3loaves frozen bread dough (thawed and risen)

salt and pepper to taste
How To Make yummy bierock

1Brown hamburger, bacon, and onion together.

2add cabbage (and if necessary 3 Tbsp. Water).

3Cover tightly and Steam till cabbage is wilted and soft. Stir frequently, and add more water if necessary.

4pinch off enough dough to make 6 bierock per loaf. Flatten dough, and fill with cabbage filling. Pinch and seal dough, placing seam side down into baking pan.

5bake at 350 degrees till bread is golden brown.

6brush tops of bierock with melted butter.
