Easy hamburger pie with a twist. The cheese coated flaky crust is light.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds ground beef
  • 1/3 cup onion
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 8 ounces green beans, drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded or monterey jack
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce

How To Make hearty beef & cheese crescent pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step 2
    In large fry pan brown ground beef, onion and green pepper. Drain.
  • Step 3
    Put ground beef mixture back in pan and stir in tomato sauce, green beans, cumin, garlic salt and salt. Simmer while preparing crust.
  • Step 4
    Separate rolls into 8 triangles. Place in 9 inch pie dish. Press over bottom and sides to form a crust.
  • Step 5
    Combine 1 egg with 1 cup of cheese and spread over crust. ( Sides and bottom).
  • Step 6
    Spoon hot meat mixture into crust. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and paprika.
  • Step 7
    Bake for 20-25 minutes. For easier serving let stand for 5 minutes.
