Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large white onions sliced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 8 slices bread of choice
  • 12 ounces blue cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter

How To Make toasted blue cheese & carmelized onion sandwiches

  • Step 1
    Add Olive oil to a large skillet. Add the onion and season with a little salt. Saute until they start to color. Add the brown sugar and saute until deep brown. Add the vinegar and let it cook 2 more minutes. Sett aside.
  • Step 2
    Place a large skillet on the stove and add half the butter. Spread butter on one side of bread. Layer the cheese and onions on the bread then place in the skillet.
  • Step 3
    Top with the other piece of bread and spread the butter on top. Cook until browned on one side. Flip and cook until browned on the other pressing down a bit.
