How To Make tex mex burgers
-
Step 1Combine the first 4 ingredients in a bowl. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Mix well. Divide into 4 portions.
-
Step 2Shape each portion into a patty.
-
Step 3Make guacamole: Scoop the avocado flesh into a bowl and mash with a fork, then mix in the garlic, tomatoes, lime juice, chili and cilantro. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Cover the surface of the guacamole with plastic wrap, leaving no air between plastic wrap and guacamole.
-
Step 4Brush the burgers lightly with oil. Grill on a medium-hot barbecue for 8-10 minutes, or until cooked through. Turn the burgers once during cooking.
-
Step 5Just before serving, heat the tortillas on the barbecue for about 15 seconds on each side. Place a spoonful of guacamole and a burger on each tortilla, then fold the tortilla over. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve plain or with lettuce.
