Simply Pulled Pork is just that. 6 ingredients that remain the same no matter the size of the pork.. BBQ sauce of your choice served on the side. Easily adaptable. Freezes well.

Ingredients

  • 4-8 pounds pork butt or shoulder
  • - seasoned salt
  • - seasoned pepper
  • 2-4 - onions, yellow, peeled and quarted
  • 1/2-1 cup water
  • 2-4 tablespoons liquid smoke flavoring
  • - hamburger buns
  • - bbq sauces
  • - coleslaw, optional
  • - pickles, sliced, optional

How To Make simply pulled pork

  • Step 1
    Pat pork dry. Liberally season all sides with seasoned salt and seasoned pepper.
  • Step 2
    Place onions on bottom of slow cooker. Place pork, fat side up, on onions.
  • Step 3
    Measure liquid. Add liquid smoke. Pour in slow cooker
  • Step 4
    Cook on low for 6-8 hours, to internal temperature of 190 degrees.
  • Step 5
    Remove pork and onions from slow cooker. Let rest. Defat liquid and put aside.
  • Step 6
    Using hands or two forks, shred pork, removing fat, if desired. Place in slow cooker. Chop onions and mix with pork. Add enough liquid to moisten. Save extra liquid and add as needed.
  • Step 7
    Serve with buns, and favorite bbq sauces. Additional side ideas, coleslaw and/or sliced pickles.
