  • 6 slices 1/2 inch thick country white bread
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons apple butter
  • 4 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 1 pound black forest ham
  • 12 ounces extra sharp white cheddar cheese thinly sliced
  • fresh chives chopped for garnish

How To Make open face cheddar and apple butter sandwich

  • Step 1
    Preheat broiler. Brush the bread with olive oil on one side. Broil for 2 minutes until the bread is toasted.
  • Step 2
    Remove from broiler Spread each slices of bread with apple butter then mustard.
  • Step 3
    Top with ham and then cheese. Broil until cheese melts. Top with chives and serve open faced.
